Great Taste in Italy 2025

Judged by a panel of experts, a selection of our products have won a Great Taste award from the most authoritative food and drink accreditation system in the world.

Our company Le Distillerie di Sarnico 1886 has been named among the best food and drink producers globally this year, winning a coveted Great Taste award - ☆ 1-Star for Grappa Pòta Classica / Amaro Elisir San Pellegrino / Elisir D'Amore (Rosso Milano) Bitter 24 .

This year, the judging took place over 110 days, with a jury of over 500 experts putting the submissions to the test. The selection included food and beverage products from 110 different countries around the world, including, for the first time, a judging session in Italy as part of Great Taste in Italy .

Grappa Pòta Classica ☆ 1-Star

The spirit is pleasant and well-crafted, with a complex, fruity aroma that's not dominated by alcohol. On the palate, it's smooth, rounded, and easy to drink, without any harshness or burn. Despite its initial alcoholic impact, it displays good harmony and a certain complexity, with a clean finish and a surprising viscosity that makes it enjoyable.

Amaro Elisir San Pellegrino ☆ 1-Star

The drink has a beautiful golden honey color and an enveloping aroma with notes of Alpine herbs, flowers, and spices. On the palate, it is earthy and delicately spicy, with a well-balanced sweetness. Some have found it too sweet, with the sugar masking the herbaceous and aromatic aspects. However, the balance between sweetness and bitterness is appreciated.

Elisir D'Amore (Rosso Milano) Bitter 24 ☆ 1-Star

This vibrant, dark red liqueur, similar to the more famous Bitter but slightly more bitter, stands out for its attractive color and lingering bitterness. It's versatile, enjoyable both neat and with soda, although the citrus element could be more pronounced for better balance. The complex and refreshing bitterness remains its strong point.

We're thrilled to have won a Great Taste award and are proud to be able to add the prestigious black and gold badge of honor to our products. Being recognized with a Great Taste award means so much to independent producers like us, as it rewards all our hard work and determination! It's especially exciting in the first year of judging taking place in Italy as part of Great Taste in Italy.
